A talk we had.

Last night and early this morning we talked about internships and bible colleges and things such as that and Pastor Randy's life and how he began ministry. It was a powerful talk. I recieved a lot out of it. Ministry basically starts with your heart and where your heart is. If it's just to be recongized that's not a pure motive. Internships are like bootcamps. They want to push you to the limit and know if you'll break. Pastor Randy spoke to us about alot. So hard to put it all on here. I never realized it but there is so much more to pastoring than we know. Pastor Randy started off as serving basically. He knew God called him into ministry and he went to a church asking a pastor. The Pastor was tough, but he ended up telling him that if he needed anyone to turn off or on a switch he'd do it, if he needed anyone for the smallest job, he'd do it. He started getting to the church early enough to see what the pastor did to prepare for church. He asked the pastor if he could do what the pastor was doing and the pastor would like ask why and Pastor Randy would respond to something like this,"so you can have time to study and pray for the service." Pastor Randy started cleaning and everything helping this pastor. Cleaned the whole building basically and then the man allowed him to preach a couple of times at the church. How amazing. Pastor Randy humbled himself and served and God used him. He had a servants heart. What amazing things would happen if we just had servants' hearts and let God use us that way instead of wanting to always be recongized. God uses the humble, not the proud.
